My preliminary piece sticks to general conventions of media by adhering to certain media conventions, for example my piece uses techniques like shot-reverse shot during the dialogue between the characters, the shot-reverse shot helps to give the audience a deeper understanding as to who is speaking, as anything in the piece unseen by the audience in non-existent. With that in mind, to give the audience an understanding as to the direction of the dialogue in my piece I applied the shot-reverse shot technique.

Similarly to that I followed the 180 degree rule in my piece, to place the camera outside of this 180 degree line would lead to confusion and distortion in the piece. As in a piece of media, when the characters are shown originally in the piece they are contracted by the viewer to stay in that position, as to move this angle would lead to confusion for the viewer as the character is not being shown by the camera as being in the same position even though they may not have moved. So following the 180 degree rule for a still conversation makes the piece more appealing for the viewer to watch.
